The JW Marriott Marquis, Dubai, is excited to announce the return of ‘Battle of the Chefs’ this October. The highly anticipated cook-off will be part of the launch of The Destination of Exceptional Taste’s first Celebrity Chef Series, a regular culinary program that will showcase the talents of both local and internationally renowned chefs along with the hotel’s award-winning restaurant teams.

The first in the Celebrity Chef Series will welcome Chef Jord Althuizen; World BBQ Champion from the Netherlands; and Chef Reuben Riffle, celebrity TV chef and restauranteur from South Africa, who will host a series of carefully curated dining experiences taking place over four days from 12th – 15th October at Prime68, Bridgewater Tavern and the soon-to-open Rang Mahal.

Kicking off the series will be the Signature Experiences where guests can savor the Chef’s individually created three course set-menus available at Rang Mahal and Prime68 on Tuesday 12th October. On Thursday 14th October, this month’s Beef and Burgundy at Prime68 will offer a five course set-menu by Chef Reuben and the chefs of Prime68 expertly paired with grape beverages from wine connoisseur, Ken Forrester.

The show-stopper of their visit, and the most anticipated experience is the return of The Battle of the Chefs on Wednesday 13th October. Set in Rang Mahal and hosted by local radio presenter, Tom Urquhart, the event will see Chef Jord and Chef Reuben go head-to-head in a culinary cook-off where guests can chose their favorite dish from each of the three courses. The battle, in partnership with Marriott Bonvoy, is available for one night only and will give guests the chance to interact with the chefs while dining on a unique and diverse menu created especially for the event.

To round off the week of culinary highlights, Chef Jord will participate in the re-launch of Bridgewater’s Backyard brunch where he will demonstrate his BBQ skills by creating unique dishes to add to the brunch menu, featuring items such as a flame grilled, premium beef and bone marrow slider and much more. Chef Reuben will be putting his own twist on the signature favorites at Prime68 brunch on the same day, allowing guests to sample a true taste of the chef’s talents.
